How do I track Claude usage and costs?
The Anthropic integration pulls API usage, Claude Code metrics, and cost per team member into Velory, so Claude spend sits next to your other software costs instead of in a separate console.
In this guide
Before you begin
- You need Admin access in Velory.
- You need an Enterprise Analytics API key from Anthropic.
Create the API key
- Go to claude.ai/analytics/api-keys.
- Generate a key with the
read:analyticsscope. - Copy the key.
The scope matters. A general API key will not work here — the integration reads analytics, so it needs the analytics scope specifically.
Connect Anthropic in Velory
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- Click Explore marketplace.
- Open the SaaS Usage category, find Anthropic, and click Connect.
- Paste the key into Enterprise Analytics API Key.
- Click Save API Key.

Verify and sync
- Click Test Connection. On success the page shows the Organization the key belongs to.
- Click Sync Now to pull usage.
A sync reports what it did — how many records were created, updated, and removed — and lists anything unmatched underneath.
Unmatched usage
Velory attributes usage to people by email. Unmatched means Anthropic reported usage for an email address with no matching employee in Velory.
That usually means one of:
- The person uses a different email in Anthropic than in Velory.
- They have left, and their Velory record is gone while their Anthropic seat is not.
- The seat belongs to a service account rather than a person.
Unmatched usage is still imported — it is just not attributed to anyone. Fixing it means aligning the email addresses or removing the stale Anthropic seat.
Good to know
How often does it sync?
Automatically, once an hour. The integration page shows Last Sync, and Sync Now runs one on demand — useful after adding seats in Anthropic if you do not want to wait for the next hourly run.
Does this cover Claude Code as well as the API?
Yes. Claude Code metrics come through the same Enterprise Analytics key.
Why does Mode say "Enterprise Analytics API"?
It records how the connection reads data. It is the only mode today, so there is nothing to choose — the field exists to make the source explicit.
What happens if I remove the integration?
Usage tracking from Anthropic stops. Velory asks you to confirm first.
