How do I connect HelloRetriever?
HelloRetriever holds devices in a warehouse — collected from leavers, waiting to be reissued, or in for repair. Connecting it pulls that stock into your hardware list, so devices sitting in a warehouse are still visible in Velory.
In this guide
Before you begin
- You need Admin access in Velory.
- You need a HelloRetriever API token, generated in the Retriever portal. This requires the Enterprise tier.
Connect HelloRetriever in Velory
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- Click Explore marketplace.
- Open the Logistics category, find HelloRetriever, and click Connect.
- Open the Configuration tab. The page opens on Details, which shows connection status but no fields.
- Paste your token into API Token.
- Click Connect.

Verify and import
- Click Test Connection to confirm the token works.
- Click Sync Now to import warehouse inventory.
Last Sync records when the import last ran.
What happens to imported devices
Imported devices do not appear directly in your hardware list as finished records. They arrive as reconciliation candidates, and you decide whether each one matches hardware Velory already knows about or should become a new record.
This matters because a warehouse is full of devices you already have records for — a laptop collected from a leaver is not a new asset. Reconciliation is what keeps the import from duplicating it.
Devices from HelloRetriever arrive unassigned, landing as Available for use or Inactive rather than attached to an employee. They are also not marked as MDM-managed: HelloRetriever reports where a device physically is, not that something manages it.
See How do I reconcile imported hardware? for how to work through them.
Good to know
Why is my hardware list unchanged after a sync?
Because the devices are waiting in reconciliation, not in the hardware list. Check the reconciliation queue — a successful sync that produced candidates has done its job.
How do I replace the token?
Open the integration page and use Update Token. The field shows "Token stored — paste a new one to replace it", so you paste the new token over it rather than clearing anything first.
What happens if I remove the integration?
Warehouse inventory stops syncing from HelloRetriever. Devices already reconciled into your hardware list stay there.
