How do I view and edit a space's details?
Every space in Velory has a detail page where you can see its information, edit fields, manage assigned assets, and add notes. This guide walks through what you find on each tab and how to make changes.
In this guide
Before you begin
You need Admin or Manager access to edit space details.
Open a space's detail page
- Go to Assets → Spaces.
- Click on any space in the table, or select View details from the action menu.
The detail page opens with the space name, type, location, and an image (or default icon) at the top.
Details tab
The Details tab is the default view. It shows the space's core information and lets you edit it.
Status card
On the left of the Details tab, the Status card shows:
- Status — Active or Inactive
- Type — the space type (e.g. Meeting Room, Office)
- Location — the physical location
- Capacity — number of seats (only for Meeting Room, Office, and Common Area types)
- Created — when the space was added
- Managed by — the employee responsible for this space, with a link to view their profile

You can edit the following fields directly on the page:

| Type | What kind of space it is — Meeting Room, Office, Storage, Server Room, Common Area, or Other |
| Location | Where the space is physically located (e.g. "Building A, Floor 2") |
| Capacity (seats) | How many people the space holds — only shown for Meeting Room, Office, and Common Area types |
| Space Manager | The employee responsible for this space and its assets |
| Description | Optional context about the space — what it is used for or who uses it |
| Active | Toggle to mark the space as active or inactive |
Make your changes and click Save Changes. The button only appears when you have unsaved edits.

The Hardware tab lists all physical devices assigned to this space:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The device's display name |
| Manufacturer | The hardware vendor |
| Model | The product model |
| Lifecycle | The device's lifecycle stage |
Click View on any device to open its detail page. To assign hardware to this space, see "How do I assign hardware to a space?".

Notes tab
The Notes tab provides a text area for internal notes about the space. Use it for information like access codes, setup instructions, or maintenance schedules. Click Save Notes to save your changes.

Good to know
How do I delete a space?
Open the settings menu (gear icon) in the top right of the detail page and select Delete space. Deleting is permanent — assets assigned to the space will become unassigned but are not deleted.
Can I upload an image for a space?
Yes. Click the image area at the top of the detail page to upload a photo of the space.
What does the Active toggle do?
When you set a space to inactive, it stays in your records but is hidden from assignment pickers throughout Velory. This is useful for temporarily closing or decommissioning a space without losing the record.
