How do I view and manage spaces?
Spaces in Velory represent physical locations where assets can be assigned — meeting rooms, offices, server rooms, storage areas, and common areas. Instead of assigning a device to an individual employee, you can assign it to a space so it stays with the location regardless of who uses it.

Before you begin
You need Admin or Manager access to view and manage spaces. Spaces is available on Business and Enterprise plans.
Navigate to the spaces list
- Go to Assets in the navbar.
- Click Spaces.
You will see a table listing all spaces in your company, along with a stats bar showing the total number of spaces, active spaces, and assigned assets.
Understand what you see
The spaces table shows key information about each location at a glance:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The space's display name and image (or a default icon) |
| Type | What kind of space it is — Meeting Room, Office, Storage, Server Room, Common Area, or Other |
| Location | Where the space is physically located (e.g. "Building A, Floor 2") |
| Manager | The employee responsible for the space and its assigned assets |
| Assigned Assets | How many assets are currently assigned to this space |
| Status | Whether the space is Active or Inactive |
Tip: You can show or hide columns using the column picker in the table toolbar. Additional columns like Capacity (seats) and Created are available but hidden by default.

Good to know
What is the difference between a space and a storage location?
A Space is a named location like a meeting room or office — assets assigned there are "in use" at that location. A Storage space type is specifically for inventory and staging areas where devices are kept until they are needed. Both are managed from the Spaces list.
What happens to assets when I delete a space?
Assets assigned to the deleted space become unassigned. They are not deleted — they remain in your hardware list and can be reassigned to another space or employee.
What does "Inactive" mean for a space?
Inactive spaces stay in your records but are hidden from assignment pickers. This is useful for temporarily closing a meeting room or decommissioning an office without losing the record. You can reactivate a space at any time.
