How do I add a product my company supplies itself?
Use Create own product for something no retailer delivers — a branded welcome pack, a headset you keep in the office cupboard. "This product will be fulfilled directly by your company." Orders for it are yours to deliver; nothing goes to a retailer.
Store → Store Setup → Edit Store → Create own product.
Create one
- Select Create own product.
- Fill in Name, Manufacturer and Description — all required.
- Set the Price and Currency. Currency defaults to EUR.
- Set Stock Quantity. It defaults to 0.
- Optionally add a Product image and a SKU, and pick a Category.
- Select Save and publish to make it orderable straight away, or Save as draft to keep it hidden until you are ready. Pressing Enter in a field saves it as a draft.
You land on the product's page.
How it differs from an imported product
| Your own product | Imported product | |
|---|---|---|
| Fulfillment | Managed — your company delivers | Automatic — the retailer delivers |
| Price | You change it | Follows the retailer's price list |
| Stock | You adjust it | Follows the retailer |
| Variants | Exactly one | As many as the retailer has |
| Name and description | Edited directly | Overridden, without changing the retailer's data |
To change the price, open the product's variant, enter the new amount in Price on the Details card and select Update. To adjust stock, use Add or Remove on the Stock card.
Good to know
Can I change the price later?
Yes. Open the product's variant, enter the new amount in Price and select Update. Orders already placed keep the price they were placed at. The currency stays the one you chose when you created the product.
Can I add a picture?
Yes. Add one in Product image when you create the product, or later from the product's page: select the picture at the top of the page to upload, replace or remove it. It saves straight away.
What happens when someone orders it?
The order shows "Company-managed order" and a line marked "You fulfil this". Hand it over, and mark it received from the order. See How are deliveries received and turned into assets?.
