How do I change what onboarding looks like?

Updated 6 days agoSara AhlénAdmin settings

Settings → Branding controls the look a new hire meets when they open their onboarding: the welcome background, your accent colour, and light or dark.

Before you begin

You need Admin access. Nothing here changes what a hire receives — only how it is presented. What they get comes from their entitlement; see How do entitlements decide what people get?.

Background image

The image behind the welcome screen. PNG, JPG or SVG, up to 5 MB, and 1920×1080 or larger is worth aiming for — it is displayed full-bleed, so a small image shows it.

Upload, then Save background. Leave it empty and Velory uses its own default photo rather than an empty gradient. Remove background puts you back to that default.

Branding

ControlWhat it does
Hex colourYour accent colour through the onboarding, e.g. #4F46E5. Validated — a value that is not a hex colour is refused
Dark modeUses a dark theme for the onboarding page
Hide prices during onboardingHas no effect. Hires never see prices during onboarding, whether it is on or off

A pick that costs more than the hire's allowance is marked Needs approval — the only sign of cost they get.

Good to know

Does the background affect anything but onboarding?

No. This page is the hire-facing onboarding experience only. Your logo and company details are on Settings → General.

Why does my background look washed out?

Because none is set and you are seeing a gradient rather than a photo. A company that has set a brand colour but no image gets a tinted gradient on purpose; upload an image to replace it.

Can a hire see prices after onboarding?

This switch does not reach beyond onboarding. Employees ask for anything later through New request on their Overview.

Can I stop software appearing in onboarding?

Not from here. Whether a hire gets a software step depends on whether their entitlement marks any software Mandatory at onboarding. See How do I decide which software a group gets?.
